This states that a given mass (m), is associated with an amount of energy (E), equal to this mass multiplied by the square of the speed of light (c).(Blow) A very small amount of matter is equivalent to a vast amount of energy. For example, 1 kg of matter converted completely into energy would be equivalent to the energy released by exploding 22 megatons of TNT. The neutron is the most effective particle to cause uranium fission. Only one neutron is needed to split an atom. When the atom fissions (splits), it splits into two smaller atoms which are most always radioactive and releases an enormous amount of energy and two or three neutrons. The neutrons released could then possibly hit other nuclei of uranium, which causes them to split in the same fashion. This is a chain reaction (a series of fissions). A baseball made of plutonium produced an explosion equal to 20,000 tons of TNT. Research on atomic bombs was begun around the same time in several countries, including Germany, but in the United States, the actual building of an atomic bomb was already underway by 1942 under the code name Manhattan Project. Cod Fish essays
Cod Fish essays The North Atlantic Cod (Gadus morhua) is on of 59 species of the family Gadidae. Since the discovery of the New World, the North Atlantic Cod has been the dominant commercial fishery species of the Northwest Atlantic. This particular species of Cod have three fins on their back, and two fins on the underside near the tale. The North Atlantic Cod is a bottom dwelling fish that inhabits cold waters. They are capable of living up to 22 years. Most adult Cod range from 2-3 feet in length and 5-25 pounds. But cod up to 6 feet and 212 pounds have been recorded. They are capable of living up to 22 years. The Cod is a major food fish, 2nd only to the herring. The North Atlantic Cod migrate in response to seasonal change in water temperature. Cod also migrate to search for food. Mature cod eat small fish, squid, and shellfish. Small cod usually feed on worms and small shrimp. Like most fish, the North Atlantic Cod have special times and places to lay eggs. The female cod normally lay their eggs between January and March. Some of the most important spawning grounds are found in offshore banks off of the coast of New England, along the coasts of Greenland and Iceland, Hamilton Bank and the Grand Bank of Newfoundland. Other traditional spots include Georgeà ¡s Bank, Labrador, Gulf of St. Lawrence, and South Grand Bank. An adult female cod lays between 4 to 6 million eggs at a single spawning. These eggs are released into the water to become fertilized. They develop and grow without the help of parents. All but a handful of these million eggs will end up as food for other fish. Normally a deep-water fish but they come into shallower water to spawn. The water temperature plays an important part in the North Atlantic Codà ¡s reproductive process. The cod, like most species of fish, have their own favorite temperature range for spawning. Eggs at 32aF will hatch in approximately 40 days and eggs at 41aF. If the temp...

Unit II Solid Waste Disposed Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words
Unit II Solid Waste Disposed - Essay Example Sanitary landfills refer to the sites in which waste isolation from the environment is done until the living environment is safe (Lanier & Eldredge, 2005). Safety is achieved through physical, chemical, or biological degradation. Recycling of waste involve the collecting and reusing the waste materials, but mainly for secondary purposes. In the case of sustainability, improvement of the environment is done through sustainability-related programs such as resource recovery practices. In the biological processes, materials that are organic are recovered through digestions and composting processes aimed to decompose them. On the other hand, the energy recovery methods involve the conversion of waste materials that are non-recyclable into useable energy such as heat, fuel, or electricity (Kutz, 2009). Generation of solid waste and its disposal shows an increase trends over the recent years. People are increasing in term of population as well as their purchasing power thereby contributing to higher waste generation each year. The capacity of waste handled by each method of disposing solid waste seems to increase as well. This happens due to the governmentââ¬â¢s efforts to maintain a healthy environment despite the increased waste generation. Between 1999 and 2006, the management of waste has improved significantly (Kutz, 2009). It appears that as the volume of waste materials increase since 1999, the disposal methods are improved and widened to absorb such materials. Generally, the trend in the management of solid waste materials shows an ever-increasing improvement in almost every method used. Lanier, H. J., & Eldredge, R. W. (2005, August 29). Starting up a business Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words
Starting up a business - Essay Example This report proposes a business plan for starting-up of a business of computer sales and services in the national market of UK. The main aim of the business will be to attract customers by providing quality services as per the need and demand of the customers along with delivering latest computer technology spare-parts to deliver the customers with quality assistance. Undoubtedly, the task of rendering computer sales and services to a diverse client base as can be observed in the current demographic features of UK, will be a tricky strategic initiation. Further reports have also revealed a fall in the selling prices and a consequence fall in the profit margin enjoyed by organisations in the computer sales and service marketing industry. Apparently this indicates towards an increasingly challenging market structure owing to which the planned business will have to be quite focused with respect to quality and customer services through effective supply chain management. For instance, whe re on one hand the resource requirement can be observed as low during the time of initiation as no requirement of large sophisticated office spaces and other obligatory assets will be required apart from skilled human resources; on the other hand, over the long run, significant costs for availing innovative technology assistances and increasing the dais for serving the customers may be incurred and thus, the business might require continuous inflow of cash and apparently at an increasing rate for its continuation. (Curators of the University of Missouri, 2010). Notably, the business is planned to be instigated as a sole-proprietorship based small business concern which will have minimum responsibilities in terms of legal obligations and therefore, will have to witness minimum intervention from external parties. 1.2. Aim of the study Setting-up of a business is often signified as a complex procedure which requires considerable knowledge base of the entrepreneur which can only be suff iced with ample information related with the motive obtainable through a formal research process (Bergstrom, 2012). Based on this notion, this particular study will aim at: Identifying the business opportunities, market competition trends and required resources to instigate the business Devising proper marketing strategies for the targeted potential customers Forecasting the capital requirements and costs to be incurred during the instigation of the business and within a one year financial period Concluding if the business plan is viable and should be proceeded with on the basis of the obtained information and forecast reports 2.0. Literature Review Business start-ups are considered as a significant contributor towards the economic development process owing to which, governmental bodies have been observed to decipher a supportive approach to assist the small and medium sized business organisations. It is worth mentioning in this context that majority of the economic structure of UK constitute of small and medium sized organisations and set-up firms which have further created a substantial pressure to facilitate this particular dimension with ample scope for future development (European Union, 2011). In the similar context, Mahdjoubi (2004) affirmed that business plan is considered to be the important source of evidences required for decisions in investment screening. Scholars have provided various frameworks to structure the process of setting-up of an organisation which is often characterised as a complex phenomenon. As stated by Carter &

The Gaming Industry Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words
The Gaming Industry - Research Paper Example Several intellectuals have benefitted from the gaming industry just as the public has faced the dangers. There is too much violence in the recent games especially killing involved to reach the final level. Fighting against the war of terror can lead to adverse effects. The Gaming Industry Ever since the rise of technology there has been an endless competition in the making of the best software or something unique to be provided in all areas of life may it be education, politics or entertainment. The gaming industry plays a vital role in the growth of not only the youthââ¬â¢s minds and their passion for a better gaming environment but also aided the adult firms in gambling and the social media. It is multi-faceted and has both its advantages and disadvantages. No one can deny its benefits but they cannot also disagree with the massive explosion it has caused in the global war against terrorism. The human mind is capable of imagining beyond its own strength. Hence what video games a nd recent casinos have to offer are mere fragments of humansââ¬â¢ imagination and there is lot more in store that yet needs to be materialized. Internet and computer are means to access video games that are in more demand especially among the teenagers or even kids as young as two. The gaming industry has become an extremely powerful method of control and manipulation throughout the different courses of life. The Childhood Years: The gaming industry has its own ways to approach each stage of life. In the childhood phase it is rather too attractive to distract a child from his main focus; learning about life and his surrounding nature. For the IT professionals it is not difficult to claim that they are struggling day and night to bring the latest in the gaming industry. Most of the games are violent in nature leading to sadistic behavior at a very early age. It also depends upon how long the child spends on playing these games because the longer he does the more chances of him get ting brutal. It becomes difficult for kids to decipher between the world of gaming and the world in which they live. They end up committing crimes which they consider to be very normal for no reason (Kutner & Olson 2008). Something changes their brain waves and directs them to do things which are inappropriate otherwise. ââ¬Å"There is no doubt that UK developers over the past three decades have worked hard to put the country in a very strong position and it is a platform upon which we can build to ensure computer games have a rosy future for the next 30 years and beyond.â⬠(Kingsley 2012). These developers however fail to realize the impact they have on the younger generation. US history has witnessed many stages in the development of gaming industry which includes gambling. The political and social dynamics surrounding the gaming industry have far reaching effects. It only depends on how power is used at a given point in time to manipulate the system into believing how impor tant it is for the people and their enlightenment (McGowan 2001). ââ¬Å"Computer simulations historically have been used in specific scientific disciplines (engineering, bio-sciences) and for high-risk occupational training (military, aviation,

Old people like to read a lot too as most of them have a lot of free time to read since most of them have retired because they are no longer able to work. E-book is a great solution to their problem as the size of the writing is not fixed. This means that one can make it bigger or smaller for instance one can make the font size 45 or 10. Through E-book, teacher can attract their student to give more attention and understanding during the class session. For an example, the teacher can include picture or video of university to tell the student how university is really look like and it conditions. Compare by giving them a paper with a details or story of university, they will be boring and simply throw away the paper if they found that is useless for themselves. It also can be a great teaching medium because when teacher show their student with an image or video, it will be memorisable and more last longer. In addition, student can do their revision using E-book which can avoid them from get bored during study. As a book seller, you can easily sell, advertise and distribute the E-book through the internet. It was better because people no need to waste their time to go to the bookstore to get the book that they want. By reducing this difficulty, people will more attract to read the book. Then, you can saving your cost of advertising. Through an internet, your advertisement will spread to all over the world for only a minute. E-book also have awfully low cost of production because it can be straightforwardly copied and distribute from one people to another. Amazingly, E-book is really environmental friendly because there is no tree is required in order to manufacture the E-book paper. So, increase the use of E-book will reduced the need of cutting trees. This will help to reduce the world problem today that is global warming. If there is no effort by any person or organisation to solve this problem, world will facing more and more problem. Not only that, the production of paper also will produce a lot of toxic component that dangerous to our health. The printing of a book also costs a lot of money besides requires a lot of resources. But for E-book, only a PC or laptop is needed to have the E-book. Some people are not agree because they said a laptop or PC is more costly than have a book but they didnt realize how many thousands of book they can have only by having a laptop. It also more safely stored and carried anywhere, than ordinary books. They also last longer than a normal books. The world today is changing every minute, so we need to update and change the content and information. E-book also can be updated faster with the new trends and information. It also generally kept to due date to the ease and very simple to do it. Other than that, E-book is a preserve and ageless books. It cannot be rot, mildew, old and full with dust like a normal book. It ensure that the literature will endure. It was crystally clear that E-book have a lot of benefits and it cannot be denied in order to make our country as a modern country with a technology. E-book also have the disadvantages and still need to improve. Everybody should take notes the importance and the advantages of E-book so that they can spread it. More campaign should be organize to expose our people with this kind of technology, E-book. Let everybody in this country expert in using E-book because maybe one day later Malaysia will be the only country that didnt use no more paper as book but only a laptop as the book. Macbeth Contextualize Analyze And Personalize
He felt like maybe he shouldn't have done what he did. Lastly, Machete's psychological state is that he is feeling suspicious about how Duncan and Banquet are acting. Analyze- In this scene , something that is revealed is that Macbeth immediately realizes that the fulfillment of the prediction may require conspiracy and murder on his part. One thing that Machete's words in this scene mean to me is that things can be good but also be terribly bad at the same time. Also, life can be hard at times, but you have to push through it the best you can. You can't let the bad things overtake the good in life. Think the most important words in this aside are when Macbeth says he is Thane of Castor. These are the most important words because even though some people may not want him to be king there isn't anything they can do about it for it to change. Personalize- My reaction to these lines are that there is a lot of defense coming from Macbeth, like he is lining guilty or ashamed about being kin g.I feel like Macbeth is trying to get a point across to Banquet, that he knows Banquet wants to be king but he will never feel the joy that Macbeth feels. Banquet will never have the power of being king. The way would deal with the situation would most likely be the same way Macbeth did. He seemed very calm about it. He didn't really get violent, he just stated that he was King, and there's no way to change it.

Kindergarten Education Act Essay
On January 20, 2012, Republic Act 10157 also known as Kindergar ten Education Act, was being approved. This Act is in relation with the Millennium Development Goals on achieving Education for All (EFA) by the year 2015. Wherein the policy provide an equal opportunities for all children to avail of accessible mandatory and compulsory kindergarten education that effectively promotes the physical, social, intellectual, emotional and skills stimulation and values formation to sufficiently prepare them for formal elementary schooling. It is prerequisite then, for the children that they will pass through kindergarten, the first stage of elementary education system before going to Grade 1. It is also stated in this Act that the Mother tongue-based multilingual education (MTB-MLE) will be implemented as the medium of instruction to kindergarten pupils. Reaction: Kindergarten before is somewhat optional to acquire. And not all have the privilege, the capacity, the money and the chances to take this formative stage in education. With or without it, when a child reaches the age of formal schooling, he can start his elementary education. The R.A.10157, Kindergarten Education Act, is a one good feat in bridging the gap of literacy and economic stability of our country. Though it is quite long way yet to see its effectiveness but what matters is a step forward has been made towards a better future. With this Act, every child of our country will have an equal right to be molded during his formative stage in life regardless of who or what he is in the society. Kindergarten is of great aid in shaping and building young ones a strong learning foundation in preparation for their next step to their formal education. With proper trainings and programs for teachers in honing their skills in teaching, right approaches such as using the MTB-MLE, and strategies and appropriate learning tools, kindergarten students would be much ready to take the challenge of leveling up to the next ladder of their formal elementary education. Being a language teacher myself, I personally experienced and still experiencing the effect of teaching many, but not all, fresh high school students with a meager elementary education foundation. No matter how much teachers will be pointing fingers to whoââ¬â¢s who is to be blamed, it boils down to one factorâ⬠¦ inadequate knowledge foundation of students. With this R.A. 10157, I believe it is of great help in patching the hole of the crisis. With a good start having a strong foundation in education, the process would then continue as they level up their knowledge and eventually our country will produce more equipped, effective and productive men and women of the society. Recommendation: Whatever policies, programs and projects of our government such as this R.A. 10157 if it is closely monitored and supervised properly by the concern agencies and people behind it, nothing will put into waste and that the common goal will be achievedâ⬠¦to build a stronger and a more productive nation.

Daniel Essays - Christian Eschatology, Book Of Daniel, Free Essays
Daniel Essays - Christian Eschatology, Book Of Daniel, Free Essays Daniel BOOK REPORT The book used for this study: Daniel Verse by Verse Study Oliver B. Green THE GOSPEL HOUR, INC. Fourteenth printing, May 1981 508 pages Class: Old Testament Literature 2 Grade rec'd: A Word count=2375 THE STUDY OF THE BOOK OF DANIEL IS THE STUDY OF PROPHECY, AND AS SUCH, DEALS WITH THE FUTURE. IN STUDYING THESE, WE, AS CHRISTIANS, CAN GAIN A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE BIBLE AND OF GOD. THROUGH THIS STUDY AN UNDERSTANDING IS OBTAINED OF THE BATTLE BETWEEN THE FORCES OF GOOD AND EVIL, AND THE ULTIMATE TRIUMPH OF JESUS. THE PROPHETIC SYMBOLS OF DANIEL MUST BE INTERPRETED BY THE BIBLE ITSELF. MAN-MADE INTERPRETATIONS HAVE NO VALIDITY AT ALL. THE COMPREHENSION OF THE PROPHECIES OF DANIEL GIVE US A CLEARER UNDERSTANDING OF JESUS. DANIEL, ALTHOUGH WRITING IN THE THIRD PERSON, GAVE A PERSONAL HISTORY, AS HE LIVED IT, IN THE BOOK OF DANIEL. JESUS ATTESTED TO DANIEL'S RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE WORDS FOUND IN THE BOOK OF DANIEL, AS HIS THIRD POINT, WHEN HE TOLD HIS FOLLOWERS TO UNDERSTAND THE PROPHECIES OF DANIEL, THE FIRST TWO BEING: TO STUDY THE PROPHECIES, AND THEY COULD BE UNDERSTOOD. DANIEL IS SET DURING THE REIGN OF KING NEBUCHDREZZAR OF BABYLON, WHICH BEGAN IN 605 B.C., AND EXTENDS INTO THE MEDO-PERSIAN REIGN, WHICH BEGAN IN 538 B.C. WE CAN DETERMINE, THEN, THAT THE BOOK WAS WRITTEN SOMETIME DURING THOSE YEARS. BECAUSE OF THEIR DISOBEDIENCE TO GOD, THE NATIONS OF ISRAEL AND JUDAH FOUND THEMSELVES CONQUERED BY NEBUCHADREZZAR AND THEIR PEOPLE TAKEN CAPTIVE TO A HEATHEN COUNTRY. ALTHOUGH, THE BOOK OF DANIEL WAS WRITTEN WHILE GOD'S PEOPLE WERE CAPTIVE IN BABYLON BECAUSE OF THEIR SINS, THE FOCUS OF THE BOOK IS NOT ABOUT THE CAPTIVITY, BUT ABOUT THE END TIME. THIS DISCOVERY ABOUT THE BOOK, GIVES DANIEL RELEVANCE FOR US TODAY. THERE ARE TWO DISTINCT PERSPECTIVES FOUND IN THE BOOK OF DANIEL: THE HISTORICAL, WHERE WE SEE STORIES ABOUT DANIEL'S TIME; AND THE PROPHETIC, WHERE WE SEE PROPHECIES POINTING TO THE END TIME. THE STORIES OF DANIEL ARE NOT JUST GIVEN AS SIMPLE STORIES, THEY ARE GIVEN TO ILLUSTRATE WHAT THE PROPHECIES PREDICT. REMEMBER, THE POINT OF THE BOOK OF DANIEL IS THE END TIME...THE ERA OF THE ENDING OF THE CONFLICT BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL. WE STUDY THE HISTORICAL PASSAGES TO DISCOVER THE MESSAGE THERE FOR THE END TIME, AND THEN WE DISCOVER HOW THE PROPHETIC SECTIONS HAVE PREDICTED THOSE VERY CONDITIONS IN THE LAST DAYS. THE BIBLE SAYS THAT PROPHECY IS CERTAIN, AND THAT REAL ANSWERS CAN BE FOUND ONLY IN PROPHECY. OUR PATH IS LIT BY THE LIGHT OF PROPHECY, AND THROUGH IT'S STUDY WE FIND JESUS PLACED IN OUR HEARTS. MUCH OF THE BOOK OF DANIEL IS WRITTEN IN SYMBOLIC LANGUAGE. THE FORM THAT DANIEL USES IS CALLED 'OUTLINE PROPHECY', IN WHICH HISTORY IS OUTLINED FROM DANIEL'S DAY TO THE END TIME. WE CAN SEE THAT WE ARE LIVING IN THE STREAM OF HISTORY BECAUSE DANIEL BEGINS HIS PROPHECIES IN HIS OWN DAY, CONTINUES THROUGH HISTORY AS THEY UNFOLD, AND THEN FOCUSES ON THE END TIME. WE SEE THE PROPHECIES OF DANIEL ARE CONSISTENT WITH BIBLICAL EVIDENCE, THEY SPAN THE AGES, ROOTED IN HISTORY BUT FOCUSED ON THE FUTURE. THE BOOK OF DANIEL OPENS WITH THE APPARENT DEFEAT FOR GOD'S PEOPLE WHEN THEY ARE DELIVERED INTO THE HANDS OF THE KING OF BABYLON AND TAKEN INTO CAPTIVITY. THESE EVENTS ARE SYMBOLIC OF THE FINAL CONFLICT THAT WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE END TIME, WHEN, IN THE LAST DAYS, SATAN'S FORCES ARE AT WORK TRYING TO DESTROY THOSE WHO ARE FAITHFUL TO JESUS. THE STRUGGLE BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL IS EVIDENCED WHEN NEBUCHADREZZAR HAD DANIEL'S THREE FRIENDS THROWN INTO THE FIERY FURNACE. HE CLEARLY SAW A FOURTH PERSON IN THE FIRE, TO PROTECT AND DELIVER THE HEBREW CHILDREN, AND HE KNEW SOMETHING SUPERNATURAL HAD OCCURRED. NEBUCHADREZZAR IS SHOWN OVER AND OVER THAT GOD IS IN CONTROL OF HUMAN EVENTS NO MATTER WHAT. THIS SAME DELIVERER IS WITH US TODAY. WHEN CHRISTIANS GO THROUGH TRIBULATIONS, THEIR OWN 'FIERY FURNACE', THE SON OF GOD IS RIGHT THERE TO GO THROUGH THE FIRE WITH THEM. THERE ARE TWO ISSUES THAT ARE AT THE FORE OF THE BOOK OF DANIEL...WORSHIP AND OBEDIENCE. THROUGHOUT THE BOOK OF DANIEL WE SEE HOW HIS OBEDIENCE TO GOD AND WORSHIP OF GOD ARE THREATENED AND

The Science Behind Milks White Color
The Science Behind Milk's White Color The short answer is that milk is white because it reflects all wavelengths of visible light. The mixture of reflected colors produces white light. The reason for this is due to the chemical composition of milk and the size of the particles contained within it.Ã Chemical Composition and Color Milk is about 87% water and 13% solids. It contains several molecules that dont absorb color, including the protein casein, calcium complexes, and fats. Although there are colored compounds in milk, they are not present in a high enough concentration to matter. The light scattering from the particles that make milk a colloid prevent much color absorption. Light scattering also accounts for why snow is white. The ivory or slight yellow color of some milk has two causes. First, the vitamin riboflavin in milk has a greenish yellow color. Second, the cows diet is a factor. A diet high in carotene (the pigment found in carrots and pumpkins) colors milk. Why Skim Milk Is Blue? Fat-free or skim milk has a bluish cast because of the Tyndall effect. There is less of ivory or white color because skim milk doesnt contain the large fat globules that would make it opaque. Casein makes up about 80% of the protein in milk. This protein scatters slightly more blue light than red. Also, carotene is a fat-soluble form of vitamin A that is lost when fat is skimmed, removing a source of yellow color. Summing It Up Milk isnt white because it contains molecules that have a white color, but because its particles scatter other colors so well. White is a special color formed when multiple wavelengths of light blend together.

Acting out-Tranference and Countertransference Research Paper
Acting out-Tranference and Countertransference - Research Paper Example The notion of acting out has been imposed with various orientations and connotations. The thirty-year old precise definition, which was thought to be a rightful and analyzable form of resistance, has now been extended to make room for delinquent behaviors and pathological and impulsive actions. The expression is now used by various psychoanalysts and others to include a variety of antisocial, impulsive and unsafe actions, often without keeping in mind the context in which the action arose. It is also sometimes used in derogatory sense to indicate dissatisfaction in the actions of patients. The present puzzlement around the phenomenon basically starts from the time when Sigmund Freud translated the term. In 1901, Freud used the informal term handeln meaning ââ¬Ëto actââ¬â¢ to describe faulty actions, which according to him had unconscious importance. However, in 1905, he used a less informal term, agieren which also meant ââ¬Ëto actââ¬â¢, but with a more forceful connotation. Freud initiated the expression in agieren as ââ¬ËRemembering, repeating and working throughââ¬â¢ (1914). Agieren was then translated as ââ¬Ëacting outââ¬â¢ and it is most likely that it is the translation that had lead to uncertainty in the psychological literature. Acting out basically refers to the release through actions, rather than verbalization, of conflicted mental substance. Even though there is a difference between act and word, both types of liberations are answers to a return of the repressed; repeated in the case of actions and remembered in the case of words. Another difference sometimes drawn is between acting out and acting in, used to differentiate between actions that occur outside the psychoanalytical treatment and actions that take place within treatment. The concept of acting out is strongly related to the theory of the transference and its advancement. Even though Freud treated the transference as the source of acting out and as a hindrance to the treatment
